This course presents a system-level study of vector databases, covering vector embeddings, similarity metrics, approximate nearest neighbor search (ANNS), and vector query processing. It covers inverted file indexing (IVF), graph-based ANN search (HNSW), product quantization (PQ), and hybrid approaches.
